Jacqueline Hosford

With a degree from the New York School of Interior Design and experience as a project manager at a high-end Manhattan construction company, Hosford’s combination of artistic vision and building expertise enable an amalgam of definitively deft design.

Hosford’s accomplishments range from her ability to invent spaces that leave her clients happy to earning the president-elect position for the American Association of Interior Designers (ASID) New York Metro Chapter.

Despite a clear voice and diverse style, Hosford successfully interprets her clients’ styles within any interior, urging clients to express themselves and what they ultimately feel comfortable living with.

When it comes to bringing fine art into a space, Hosford says, “Art is not a decoration. I try to find a balance between works of art that can say something on their own, but also enhance the interior.”

Impressed with the variety and skill of nAscent Art New York’s artwork and artists, Hosford expressed particular interest in Gregory Kirschenbaum’s bold abstraction and hints of narrative expression, and Yuko Ueda’s imaginitive and fantastical atmospheres.

“Everything affects how you perceive art,” Hosford says, “if you take a painting and put it on a wall, it takes on a new context and becomes part of a whole.”

Fennoy expresses the utmost significance in incorporating art into her design work.

She says, “I not only think about art at the end of a project, but really try to bring art into the beginning concepts and overall schematics of a space.”

When asked which nAscent artwork she would choose to bring into her interior designs, Fennoy lauded the work of Erika Fortner for its color and freedom, perfect for almost any interior, and the work of TJ Volunis for its captivating copper mazes, reminding Fennoy of transit line diagrams.

“In terms of the final picture of a space I am designing,” Fennoy says, “art has the most impact at the end of the day, it’s just the icing on the cake, you can’t have a cake without any icing!”
